Aircraft safety on the ground is a precision business. Fuel quality and de-icing are two of the places where a small failure has a large consequence.

The International Air Transport Association treats fuel quality as a discipline of its own. The International Fuel Quality Pool looks at manufacture, airport receipt, storage, supply and into-plane fuelling. Safety Advisors is part of that pool. Our IFQP-qualified consultants carry out inspections and training.

The De-Icing/Anti-Icing Quality Control Pool, DAQCP, brings member airlines together to inspect companies that de-ice aircraft and carry out the checks afterwards. Poor de-icing has already caused serious incidents. The inspections cover the whole process, and they are one of the practical ways the industry keeps an aircraft fit to fly. We also advise on airside and airport health and safety, where the hazards are specific and the tolerance for improvisation is small.

How we can help

IFQP fuel audits

Inspections across the fuel chain, from receipt and storage to the point the fuel goes onto the aircraft.

DAQCP de-icing audits

Inspections of de-icing and anti-icing, and of the post-treatment checks that confirm the aircraft is safe to depart.

Aviation training

Training for aviation professionals, including human factors, delivered by qualified trainers.

Airside health and safety

Advice for the airside environment, where vehicles, aircraft, weather and time pressure meet.

Airport health and safety

Support for the wider airport operation, not only the fuel farm or the de-icing pad.
